The Cardinals took the early lead in the game, scoring 3:40 into play, for what would eventually be the deciding goal. St. John Fisher continued to attack, but Smith and the Wolves defense would hold. Keuka had a chance in the 17th minute as a long throw was sent in by
Liam Fitzpatrick. The ball bounced in the box, but the Fisher keeper won the jumping contest with
Owen Thorpe to collect the ball. Later in the 32nd minute, the Fisher keeper was caught out of goal, but
Cole Santiago's shot was blocked by the St. John Fisher defense.
In the second half, Keuka had a good run of sustained pressure 10 minutes into play. However, their shot was eventually wide. St. John Fisher thought they doubled their lead in the 80th, but it was called back due to offside. The Cardinals were not deterred as they were able to play out the final 10 minutes with possession to defeat Keuka College 1-0.
