KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team defeated Wells College in straight sets on Tuesday night at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Keuka College (5-3) was led by
Dayna Edholm with 15 kills.
Sarah Paradiso added 10 kills for the Wolves and
Nina Scott finished with eight in the win.
Keuka College 3 vs. Wells College 0 – 25-15, 25-21, 25-23
It was a tight start to the match between the Wolves and the Express. Keuka College slowly started to build their advantage, pushing the margin to five at 13-8 following an Edholm kill. The Express shrunk it down to one and trailed 17-15 before the Wolves went on a run. Keuka took over the serve with an 18-15 lead and did not let Wells serve again. The Wolves closed on the set with seven eight straight points to win the first 25-15.
The run extended to 12 straight as Keuka College scored the first four points of the second set. The Green and Gold did not look back as there were no ties or lead changes in the frame. A 7-0 run for the Express kept them in the frame, dropping the Keuka lead to 20-19. The Wolves answered with three points to regain control. A kill by
Camey Knapp ended the second set at 25-21 to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead in the match.
Wells scored the first points of the third, but the Wolves answered back, building a 9-4 lead following a
Nina Scott kill. The Express tied the set at 16-16 following four straight points. Following a timeout,
Dayna Edholm had a kill to end the run. The lead would still switch sides as Wells scored four in a row to take a 22-21 lead. The Wolves bounced right back with three of their own to get to set point. Following an Express kill, Edholm ended it as Keuka won the third set 25-23 to sweep the match.
