Women’s Lacrosse Loses to Medaille on the Road

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost at Medaille University 16-4 in an Empire 8 game on Saturday afternoon.

Keuka College (1-10, 0-6 Empire 8) was led by Katie Deatherage with a goal and an assist in the game.

The Mavericks scored the first goal of the game 54 seconds into the affair, but the play settled. The Wolves tied it up with nine minutes left in the first as Trinity Burton found Erin Patterson for the goal. However, the Mavericks followed with two of their own as they led 3-1 after the first.

Medaille extended their run to four goals with two more to start the second. Katie Deatherage scored for Keuka to end the run, but Medaille closed the half with five unanswered to lead 10-2 at the break.

Medaille saw the game out in the second half. They outscored Keuka College 3-1 in both quarters. Madeline Greene scored for Keuka in the third, and Grace Morse scored in the fourth, but the Wolves would fall 16-4 on Saturday.

  • Keuka College is now 14-8 all-time against Medaille. The 22 games make the Mavericks the most-played opponent in program history
  • Despite having the six-game edge, the Wolves are 5-5 when playing at Medaille and their last win at Medaille came in the 2014 season
  • Erin Patterson scored her first career goal
  • Alyssa Chase got the start in goal and made six saves. She now has 111 on the season, fifth-most in program history
  • Hannah Blaker played the final 40 minutes in goal and made a career-high 10 saves
  • The combination totaled 16 saves, tying for fifth-most in a game in program history
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves enter the final week of the 2023 season. Keuka College will be on the road on Wednesday, playing at Wells College in a non-league game. The Green and Gold will then close the season at home on Saturday, April 29 as they host Utica University at 1 p.m.
