KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Keuka College senior
Trinity Burton scored 2:38 into the first overtime to lift Keuka College to a 13-12 women's lacrosse victory against SUNY Poly on Thursday evening at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
The goal was Burton's fourth of the game, tying her with
Madeline Greene as the high scorers for Keuka College (1-3, 0-0 Empire 8). Greene added three assists for a seven-point game, tying her career high.

The Wolves struck first as
Marissa Schmitz converted a free-position shot two minutes into the game on Thursday. The Wildcats tied the game at 1-1, but
Trinity Burton scored on the man-down with a minute left to give Keuka a 2-1 lead after the first.
SUNY Poly tied the game up a minute into the second quarter. The Wildcats took the lead midway through the frame and then doubled it 36 seconds later to make it 4-2. The Wolves proved they could score quickly too.
Madeline Greene scored with 3:13 left in the half. She then won the draw control and would assist on
Brooke Bonetti's first goal of the season 43 seconds later to tie the game at 4-4.
The pace picked up late in the third quarter. With the game tied 5-5,
Madeline Greene scored for the Wolves with 3:51 left in the quarter to give Keuka a 6-5 advantage. Goals by Burton and Greene followed as the Wolves scored three goals in 54 seconds to push their lead to 8-5. SUNY Poly pulled one back but Keuka College carried a two-goal lead into the final quarter.
Julia Bauder tallied the first goal of the fourth quarter. SUNY Poly had an answer, but Bauder responded right back with a goal on a free-position shot. The teams traded goals and the Wildcats would cut it down to one with six minutes left to play.
Madeline Greene scored to make it 12-10, but two straight for SUNY Poly had the game tied 12-12 with four minutes left in regulation. SUNY Poly had a chance in the final minute on a free-position shot, but the effort was high and the game would go to overtime.
SUNY Poly won the opening draw, but
Liz Spin forced a turnover. On the ensuing clear, the Wildcats got the ball back near the Wolves' goal.
Alyssa Chase made a point-blank save to extend the game. The Wolves got a successful clear and worked their offense.
Maddie Fassinger found
Trinity Burton near the eight-meter line. Burton cut through the SUNY Poly defense and scored to give the Wolves a 13-12 overtime victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain at home this weekend for a non-conference game against SUNY Canton on Saturday, March 25. It will be the first time the Wolves and Roos have faced each other since the 2015 season. The opening draw from the Jephson Community Athletic Complex is set for 1 p.m.
