KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Leading a statement win in the opening Empire 8 game of the season for Keuka College, Mason VanDeMortel was named Empire 8 Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Mason VanDeMortel had his best game of the season as Keuka College opened Empire 8 play with a victory over Houghton University. The senior led the Wolves with 23 points in just 21 minutes of action. He went 9-12 from the floor (.750) and 4-6 from three. He also grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots in the win.

For the season, VanDeMortel is averaging 12.0 points a game and leads the Wolves in rebounding. He also leads the conference in three-pointers per game, 3.1, and blocked shots per game, 1.3. The senior is tenth on the career blocks list at Keuka College and is nearing cracking the top ten in career threes as well.

The Wolves have one final game before the holiday break. Keuka College will host SUNY Morrisville at 2 p.m. at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday. It will be the first time the Wolves and Mustangs have met since the 2019-20 season and will be the 24th all-time meeting.
