CANTON, N.Y. — Keuka College Field Hockey's
Makaela Mills set a new career points record for the Wolves, but Keuka College fell 7-2 in non-conference action at St. Lawrence University on Thursday.
Mills totaled three points in the game, scoring a goal and adding an assist for Keuka College (4-11, 2-4 Empire 8). She now has 63 total points, passing the previous record of 61 held by Nicole Wilson.
Anna Dewey scored off of the Mills assist and
Jordan Nichols made 18 saves for the Wolves.

The Saints started on the attack against the Wolves and continued to press for most of the first quarter. The Green and Gold was able to get a corner and shot 10 minutes into the game but it was stopped.
Jordan Nichols made eight saves in the opening quarter to keep the game scoreless after 15 minutes.
St. Lawrence was able to take the lead 1:38 into the second quarter and the Saints would later double their lead. Keuka College had some chances in the middle of the frame with corners and shots, but were unable to break through. St. Lawrence added two more goals to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.
The Wolves were able to get on the board as Keuka College converted on a corner opportunity. Alexia Dodge inserted the corner.
Makaela Mills dished the ball over to
Anna Dewey for the goal. It was the fifth goal in the last four games for the Wolves. The assist also tied the points record for Mills. St. Lawrence quickly got the goal back, but the Wolves answered right back as
Makaela Mills scored and set the career points record. Keuka trailed 5-2 going into the final quarter.
Nichols was called upon for another big quarter as the Saints outshot the Wolves 12-1 in the fourth. The junior made seven stops in the frame. St. Lawrence added a pair of goals in the final three minutes to secure the 7-2 victory.
Up Next for Keuka College: Keuka College will close the 2023 regular season on the road on Saturday. The Wolves will face the Hawks of Hartwick College on the road in Oneonta with an 11 a.m. start.
