KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — After a big weekend that included Senior Day and clinching a berth in the Empire 8 Tournament, Keuka College senior
Camey Knapp was named the Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.
Friday night was Senior Night for the Keuka College Women's Volleyball team and Knapp and the other seniors rose to the occasion. Knapp had 10 kills for the Wolves as they rallied from 2-0 down to defeat Alfred University in five sets and clinch a berth in the Empire 8 Tournament. Then on Saturday, Knapp tied for the team lead and tied her own career high with 16 kills in a win over Elmira College. She had just one error against the Soaring Eagles, posting a .625 hitting percentage. Her efficiency was the second-best hitting percentage in a four-set match in program history.
On the season, Knapp is second on the team in kills and hitting percentage. She ranks within the top ten in the Empire 8 in hitting percentage. Knapp's performance this weekend pushed her to a new personal best for kills in a season.
Knapp is the third Keuka College Women's Volleyball player to earn Empire 8 honors this season, joining
Dayna Edholm and
Casey Hunziker.
The Wolves enter their final weekend of the regular season this Friday with a conference match at Nazareth University. The Green and Gold will then play at St. John Fisher University on Saturday in a tri-match that will include the conference match against the Cardinals as well as a non-conference match against Misericordia University.
