KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — A second-half goal by freshman
Parker Lahey gave the Keuka College Women's Soccer team a 1-1 Empire 8 Conference draw at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Lahey's goal was the third of her rookie season. She was assisted on the goal by
Jenna McNulty and
Sam Pelcher made eight saves in goal for Keuka College (2-2-4, 0-0-2 Empire 8).
Keuka College 1 vs. Nazareth College 1
The Golden Flyers jumped out to an early advantage over the Wolves scoring in the 4th minute on Saturday. Keuka College would settle into the game, but Nazareth stayed on the front foot. The visitors had 11 shots in the opening half against just one for the Wolves.
Sam Pelcher made six saves for the Green and Gold as Keuka College trailed 1-0 at halftime.
Keuka College pressed the Golden Flyers in the second half and began to use their speed to their advantage. The Wolves drew the game level in the 62nd minute as
Jenna McNulty found a streaking
Parker Lahey down the middle of the field between the Nazareth defenders. The keeper charged, but Lahey put the ball over her and into the back of the net to make it 1-1. Keuka looked to go ahead midway through the second, but the shot by
Grace DeCapua on the doorstep was stopped. Both teams had chances late, but the game would end in a 1-1 draw.

- The draw snapped Nazareth's ten-game winning streak over the Wolves. Keuka College is 5-11-1 all-time against the Golden Flyers
- Sam Pelcher surpassed 100 saves for her career on Saturday

- The Golden Flyers had a 22-4 edge in shots and a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves head north on Tuesday for a non-conference game at Oswego State. It will be just the second meeting between the Wolves and Lakers in the past 20 years, but the two teams played often before then. Overall, Keuka College is 5-8-1 against Oswego State dating back to the 1985 season.
