Both teams had defensive misplays early that led to quality scoring chances, but neither team capitalized during an evenly played opening 10 minutes on Saturday. Keuka and Elmira would settle into the game, but the Soaring Eagles held nearly two-thirds of the possession. Elmira had a 5-2 edge in shots. Only one attempt by each team was on goal and both were saved by the keepers as the game remained in a scoreless tie at the half.
The Wolves had early pressure on the Soaring Eagles in the second half but were unable to generate a final attempt on goal. The deciding goal would come in the 56th minute as Elmira worked the ball down the left wing, centered it, and finally worked it to the right edge of the box. The Soaring Eagles sent a lofted shot back across the goal, over
Carson Smith in goal, and inside the far post for the 1-0 lead. Elmira would drop defensively as Keuka had multiple attempts, sending free kicks into the box from midfield. However, the Wolves would not be able to connect with their attackers as Keuka College was held without a shot. Elmira College held on for the 1-0 victory.
