ALFRED, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team lost an Empire 8 game on the road at Alfred University 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Sam Pelcher made four saves in goal for Keuka College (2-6-4, 0-3-2 Empire 8).

Alfred got off on the front foot getting early shots against the Wolves.
Sam Pelcher made a pair of saves early. The first corner kick came in the 34th minute and Alfred took advantage. A low kick came into the box towards the near post and a Saxon attack was able to kick it inside the left post for the 1-0 lead. Keuka flipped on the pressure having a pair of shots saved minutes after the goal. The Wolves had a late chance off of a corner kick of their own.
Parker Lahey sent the ball in and was headed by Lindsay Garbacz, but it would go off of the crossbar. The Saxons led 1-0 at the half.
Both teams would have chances in the second half as they combined for 12 shots in the frame. One of Keuka's best chances came again off of a corner kick. In the 75th minute, Lahey sent the ball in. It found the feet of
Carli Zollo in the box but the keeper for Alfred was there for the save. A late effort by Garbacz was blocked in the 87th minute. Alfred continued on for the 1-0 victory.

- Keuka College had an 11-10 advantage in shots, but Alfred had the lead in shots on goal 5-3
- The Wolves also had the lead in corner kicks, 5-3
- Lindsay Garbacz led the attack with four shots on Wednesday. Shayla Vetter was right behind her with three shots against the Saxons
Up Next for Keuka College: Wednesday started a three-game stretch of straight Empire 8 games on the road. The Wolves will play at Utica University in a week on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Keuka will then conclude the road trip the following Saturday, playing at Elmira College.
