KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team lost at home on Saturday afternoon to Russell Sage College 2-0 in an Empire 8 matchup.

The two teams battled for possession in the opening minutes. Both Russell Sage and Keuka College had early corners but were not able to capitalize. The game would primarily be played in the middle third, but the Gators controlled possession. The visitors pushed ahead in the 36th minute heading in a corner for the 1-0 lead. The Wolves had a late chance trying to connect a through ball but the Sage keeper charged off the line to win the ball. Russell Sage led 1-0 at the break.
Keuka College came out on the front foot trying to press to tie the game in the second. Against the run, Russell Sage was able to generate a chance by sending a ball into the box. While the initial effort was headed off the crossbar, it came right back down into the box and was headed in for the 2-0 advantage. Keuka College had a good chance in the 63rd minute as
Elena Paolini crossed a ball into the box. It initially got past the keeper but would get tangled in the legs of a Wolves attacker and Gators defender. The goalie would recover to smother the ball. The Wolves had more pressure later in the game, but would not be able to generate a goal as Keuka fell to Russell Sage 2-0 on Saturday.

- The Wolves are now 1-2 all-time against the Gators. Russell Sage has won both meetings within the Empire 8 Conference
- Keuka College had five shots in the second half, three of which were on goal. The Green and Gold were held without a shot in the first half
- The Gators held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are back at home Wednesday night as Keuka College hosts Houghton University at 7 p.m. at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. The Wolves defeated the Highlanders 3-0 in Houghton last season.
