Box Score ALFRED, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team won their first Empire 8 Conference game in program history, defeating Alfred University in five sets on Friday night.
Tionna Moss led Keuka College (4-7, 1-0 E8) with a career-high 18 kills. Kelsie Allen backed her up with 14 kills. Lauren Kuipers anchored the defensive efforts with 24 digs on the night.

Keuka College took the first three points of the match on Friday and did not look back in the first. The Wolves built a 10-point lead at 18-8. The Green and Gold saw the set out, winning the first 25-18.
Alfred University flipped the script and took a 7-1 lead off the bat in the second set. The Saxons led for most of the second set but the Wolves rallied. A block by Cameron Knapp and Kelsie Allen tied the set at 19-19. The Wolves added three more points to take a 22-19 lead. But the 22nd point, a kill by Knapp, would be the final point of the set for the Wolves. Alfred closed on a 6-0 run to take the second 25-22 and level the match at 1-1.
After a balanced start to the third, Alfred converted nine of ten points to take a 16-13 lead. The Wolves tied it and it stayed close to the final points. A kill by Kelsie Allen gave the Wolves a chance to serve for the set at 25-24, but a kill by the Saxons extended the third. Allen responded with another kill and this time the Wolves closed it out on a Saxon error to win the third 27-25 and take a 2-1 lead.
The Wolves started the fourth with the serve and Erika Carlson took advantage. Carlson led the Wolves to the first nine points of the set with Carlson contributing four of them with aces. However, after the 9-0 lead, Alfred scored 10 of the next 11 points to tighten the set. The Saxons continued to push and built a lead up to six points in the set. Alfred closed out the fourth 25-21 to force a fifth and final set.
Points were traded early, but the Wolves took an 8-4 advantage, forcing the Saxons into a timeout. Alfred did not go away as they dropped it down to a one-point set at 13-12, but a service error by the Saxons gave the Wolves a chance to serve for the match. Alfred got the point to make it 14-13, but Tionna Moss put the match away with a kill as Keuka won the fifth set 15-13 to win the match.

- Friday was the first Empire 8 match for the Keuka College Women's Volleyball team
- The Wolves improve to 27-21 all-time against the Saxons. The 48 matches are the third-most in program history behind only Cazenovia College and Oswego State
- It was Keuka's first five-set victory of the season. The Wolves entered Friday 0-4 in matches that went the distance
- Tionna Moss set a new career-high in kills. Moss also surpassed 100 for the season and 200 for her career on Friday
- As a team, the Wolves had a season-high 11 blocks against Alfred. The effort was led by Dayna Edholm with a career-best six. The 11 blocks as a team tied for eighth-most in a five-set match in program history
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will be right back on the court on Saturday as Keuka will host their first Empire 8 Conference March. The Green and Gold will welcome Utica College to the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday for a 2pm conference match.
