Women's Soccer Drops Opener at RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team, playing their first game in 662 games, lost their season-opening game to RIT 4-0 on Wednesday.

Sam Pelcher made nine saves in goal for Keuka College (0-1).

The two teams battled for possession in the early minutes. The Wolves were able to press the Tigers in their end, but were never able to connect the final pass to threaten goal. RIT would pull ahead in the 16th minute with a tally. The Wolves got an attempt as a corner kick set up Elena Paolini for a shot, but it was saved by the Tigers' keeper. RIT added a goal in the first half and led 2-0 at the half.

The Tigers controlled play in the second half. They outshot the Wolves 13-0 in the frame. Pelcher made five saves for the Wolves in the second, but RIT added a pair of goals on their way to the 4-0 victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain on the road this weekend with a pair of games in the Erinn K. Brozman Cup at Hartwick College. Keuka College will face Smith College in the first game on Saturday and then face Nichols College on Sunday.
