Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team and Utica College played 110 minutes on Wednesday night and defense prevailed as the two sides played to a scoreless draw.
The combo of Jessica Pegg and Sam Pelcher combined for the shutout with six saves for Keuka College (2-10-3, 1-3-2 Empire 8).

The two teams battled for possession on Wednesday. An early long attempt by Utica was collected by Pegg in goal. The Wolves pressured in the 29th minute as Grace DeCapua had her effort saved. Minutes later, Peyton Miller got open in the right side of the box and fired for the far post. The keeper for the Pioneers made a nice diving save to keep the game scoreless.
The Pioneers had a quality chance early in the second half. Off of a corner kick, the ball bounced around the box and was eventually knocked towards goal, but Lydia Hall (blocked the ball and cleared it away from goal. The Wolves flipped the pressure in the 62nd, and again, it was Miller creating the chance. She got a cross from the left in the box and hit the ball towards the goal. The keeper adjusted to the cross, dove, and the ball ended trapped under her and saved to keep the game at 0-0. The Pioneers had a chance, trying to string together long balls on the counter-attack. One effort got behind the defense, but Renee Vito recovered and muscled the attacker off the ball and cleared it away. The two teams fought for the ball in the final minutes to no avail as the game would go to overtime.
Early in the first overtime, Utica College controlled play and pressured the Keuka net. Pelcher made pair of saves for the Wolves. The second was key as Utica got behind the Keuka defense and in on goal. Pelcher came off her line to cut off the angle. Utica's attacker let the shot go from the edge of the box and Pelcher was able to make the save.
In the second overtime, Keuka's best chance came in the 103rd minute. Carli Zollo got open at the top of the box and let a shot go, but the Utica keeper made a leaping save. That would be the only shot by either team in the second overtime as the game finished in a 0-0 draw.

- Keuka College is now 8-6-1 all-time against Utica College
- It was the fourth time in the last five games against the Pioneers that has gone to overtime, however, the first one to go the full 110 minutes. Keuka is 1-2-1 in overtime games against Utica College
- It was the second straight combined shutout for Pegg and Pelcher
Up Next for Keuka College: Wednesday was the second-to-last home game for the Wolves and the final one will come on Saturday, October 23 when Keuka College hosts Elmira College at 1pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. It will also be senior day and include a pregame ceremony for the Class of 2022 members on the women's soccer team.
