Box Score 2 BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team ended their 2019 season with a pair of losses at the Brockport Invitational.
Keuka College (7-19) was swept in their opening match against Clarkson University. The Wolves then dropped their final match of the day, 3-1 against St. Lawrence University.
Clarkson University 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-17, 25-13, 25-11
Both teams played a strong first set as Keuka had 10 kills and Clarkson had 13 kills. The Golden Knights pulled ahead and continued onto the 25-17 first set victory. Clarkson repeated their performance in the second with 13 kills, but the Wolves were limited to just six as Clarkson extended their lead to 2-0. The Golden Knights closed out the match in the third with a match-high 15 kills, defeating the Wolves 25-11 in the third, sweeping the match.
Lead Wolf: Grace Allen led the Green and Gold with 10 kills against Clarkson.
St. Lawrence University 3 vs. Keuka College 1 – 23-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-18
The Green and Gold got out to a fast start against the Saints, hitting a match-high nine kills as the Wolves won the opening set 25-23. St. Lawrence responded as they took the second set 25-12 and the third set 25-14. The Saints closed out the match in the fourth, defeating the Wolves 25-18 in the set. St. Lawrence won the match 3-1.
Lead Wolf: Grace Allen once again led the attack with 12 kills. Lauren Kuipers led the Keuka College defense with 13 digs in the match.
KC Notes:
- The Wolves fall to 9-13 all-time against Clarkson and 5-8 all-time against St. Lawrence
- Abby Anderson combined for five blocks on the day. The junior now has 130 for her career, tying Emily Hargrave for tenth on the Keuka College career list
- Delaney Yorks had 20 combined assists on Saturday, passing Amie Pizura for tenth on the career list
- Grace Allen surpassed 200 kills for the second straight season
