Men's Basketball Shoots Past SUNY ESF

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team put recent three point shooting problems aside and made a season-high eight three pointers in their 95-64 victory over SUNY ESF on Wednesday night at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

The Green and Gold improved their season record to 2-6. Keuka will return to the court on December 19 in an exhibition game against Colgate University. Keuka will then be off for the holidays before hosting Alfred State on January 6, 2016.

Casey Williams led Keuka with a game-high 17 points. Freshman Sam Brown had a career-night for the Green and Gold. He was 4-6 from three point territory and finished with a career-high 14 points. Career-highs were also set by Dylan Doupe, Isaiah Williams, Andre Morse, Matt Estes, Dekhari Stewart, Darnell Pritchard, and Jawanza Longmire as all 16 players recorded at least two points and 15 of the 16 recorded at least a rebound.Miles Boyer had a team-high nine rebounds, tying his career-best mark.

Keuka College came out fast against the Mighty Oaks with Casey Williams sinking a jumper and Miles Boyer converting a three point play. After a pair of free throws by Trevor Powell, Keuka held the early 7-0 advantage. SUNY ESF answered with a 9-0 run of their own to take the lead back. They lead would bounce between teams. With the game tied at 13-13 halfway through the first half, Sam Brown made a three to give Keuka the advantage. The Green and Gold would start to work on the margin as the half went on. They pushed the lead to 10 points with six minutes to go in the first half. Keuka would lead by 12 points, 43-31, when the buzzer sounded to end the first half.

The Green and Gold made their first five shots of the second half to continue to widen the margin. Overall, they outscored the Mighty Oaks 23-2 over the first seven minutes of play to take control of the game. As a team, Keuka shot 60.7% from the field and 66.7% from three point territory in the second half alone. Keuka College would go onto the 95-64 victory over SUNY ESF.
