KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The best start to a season in Keuka College Men's Soccer history continued on Saturday as Keuka College defeated SUNY Cobleskill 5-0 at home in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.

Ben Schreiber netted a goal and added an assist for Keuka (10-0-2, 7-0-1 NEAC). Leandro Curran remained perfect from the spot this season with a penalty kick goal. Mike Celestino and Rees Davis each scored their first career goals in the match. Tim Fanaro  added his first collegiate assist and Preston Vick got the shutout in goal.

The Green and Gold will be back in action on Sunday as they host SUNY Poly. The conference match against the Wildcats is set to kickoff at 1pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Keuka College controlled the run of play for most of the first half. Their runs were a step too early in the opening minutes as they were whistled for numerous offsides. The Green and Gold would continue to push the ball and was awarded a penalty kick in the 20th minute. Leandro Curran was fouled in the box and stepped to the spot to take the kick. He confidently put the ball in the lower left corner for the 1-0 Keuka lead. Keuka was able to get a couple good changes late, but the Fighting Tigers goalie was up to the task, and the game went to halftime at 1-0.

With the wind at their backs, Keuka College came out in the second half and continued to attack. Five minutes into the half, Edler de Castro found Ben Schreiber behind the Fighting Tiger defense. Schreiber cut back to his left foot and buried the ball in the left side of the net for the 2-0 lead. Keuka College got their third tally on an own goal by SUNY Cobleskill. Then Ben Schreiber sent a long ball and found Mike Celestino. The sophomore put the ball to the left of the keeper for the 4-0 lead in the 71st minute. Keuka College added a fifth goal, with Rees Davis getting the tally, and Keuka continued onto the 5-0 victory.
