Box Score Senior Trevor Healey (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) posted his seventh double-double to power the Keuka College men's basketball team to a 74-67 win over Morrisville State Saturday inside the Weed Physical Arts Center.
Healey scored 25 points with 15 rebounds, shooting 90 percent on free throws (9 of 10) and 44.4 percent from the floor (8 of 18) to lead the Wolfpack (10-6, 7-3 NEAC) to the season sweep of the Mustangs (5-12, 2-8), the three-time defending NEAC champions.
Senior Tyler Hixson (Shortsville, N.Y./Red Jacket) added 11 points with four rebounds, while junior Casey Williams (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) added 10 rebounds with six assists, and senior Adam Starks (Wellsville, N.Y./Andover) had 11 points with 3 rebounds and 2 steals in the win.
Freshman Greg Tyler (Edgewater, Md./Southern) added career-highs in points (8) and assists (4), while senior Jared Wagner (Pittsford, N.Y./McQuaid) had six points with four rebounds for Keuka.
With seven conference clashes remaining, the Wolfpack are in sole possession of second place in the NEAC, trailing only SUNY Cobleskill (9-8, 7-2).
The top three teams in each division qualify for NEAC's, Feb. 28 through March 1.
Williams snared six offensive rebounds and Healey added five offensive rebounds for Keuka, which outrebounded Morrisville State 42-30.
The Wolfpack fell behind 26-17 on a jumper from Ibrahima Toure (24 points, 10 rebounds) with 8:34 remaining in the opening half.
But the Green and Gold closed out the half on a 27-8 run to seize a 44-34 halftime lead.
Tyler scored all eight of his points during the run, while Healey added six points, Williams scored five points and Hixson hit three free throws during the run for Keuka.
Leading 52-47 5:39 into the second half, Starks drained a '3' and Healey made a layup for a 57-47 lead.
Trent Ward (27 points) knocked down a '3' to pull the Mustangs within 57-52 with 11:43 to play, but Starks and Healey each made layups and Healey added a pair of free throws for a 63-52 lead with 9:34 remaining.
Keuka's lead swelled to 68-55 when Starks buried a triple with 7:21 remaining, but the Mustangs hit six straight free throws and only trailed 68-63 after Qwuhail Barlow made a layup with 3:35 remaining.
But Healey hit four free throws as the Green and Gold held on to complete the season sweep.
The Wolfpack travel to NEAC rival Gallaudet (D.C.) University for a 3 p.m. clash Saturday, Feb. 7.
