Box Score

The Keuka College women's volleyball team battled with SUNY Geneseo during Wednesday night's non-conference clash inside the Weed Physical Arts Center, but the Wolfpack were swept in three sets by the Blue Knights.

The Wolfpack (0-8) fell by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-23 against the Blue Knights (10-1).

Sophomore Tally McDonald (Romulus, N.Y./Romulus) hit .375 after compiling eight kills with two errors in 16 attempts, and she also added four digs while senior Devan Curtis (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) recorded six digs with four kills in the loss.

Freshman Katelyn Warren (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) added four kills, sophomore Rachel Elliot (Dundas, Ont./Parkside) contributed five blocks and freshman Samantha Kogut (Vernon Center, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) added four blocks for the Wolfpack.

Senior Julia Coryell (Phelps, N.Y./Midlakes) had nine assists with four digs and classmate Rachel Parker (Chaumont, N.Y./Thousand Islands) added eight assists and six digs in the loss.

Warren had two kills to stake the Wolfpack to an early 8-3 lead, but Geneseo responded with a 5-1 run and trailed 9-8 in the opening set.

The two schools were knotted at 15, but Geneseo closed on a 10-2 run to win the set.

The Blue Knights never trailed during the second set, and led 10-7 in the third before the Wolfpack rallied.

Curtis had a kill and sophomore Kaitlin Burke (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning West) added an ace to trim the deficit to 10-9. Trailing 12-10, McDonald had a kill and Curtis added a block to even the score at 12-all.

The Green and Gold played even with the Blue Knights for the remainder of the set, and pulled even at 23 on an ace from Parker. But Geneseo won the final two points to complete the sweep.

Keuka College travels to Cobleskill, N.Y. Friday and Saturday for the first of three North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover competitions. The Wolfpack will play Lancaster Bible at 6 p.m. Friday night, followed by contests with St. Elizabeth at 10 a.m. and Penn State-Abington at 12 p.m. Saturday.
