Women's Volleyball Sweeps on Senior Day

Senior Devan Curtis (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) recorded 12 kills with nine digs, and sophomore Tally McDonald (Romulus, N.Y./Romulus) added eight kills as the Keuka College women's volleyball team swept Morrisville State Saturday on Senior Day.

Curtis had four errors in 35 attacks (.229 hitting percentage) and added two aces with two assists, while McDonald had two errors in 28 attacks (.214 hitting percentage) for the Wolfpack (13-12).

Sophomore Kaitlin Burke (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning West) recorded 18 digs, senior Julia Coryell (Phelps, N.Y./Midlakes) handed out 15 assists to go with 3 digs and 2 aces, and classmate Rachel Parker (Chaumont, N.Y./Thousand Islands) added 11 assists with five digs in the sweep.

Keuka prevailed by scores of 25-20, 27-25 and 25-19 against the Mustangs (7-19).

Sophomore Alissa Walruth (Hammondsport, N.Y./Hammondsport) added 11 digs with three aces, while senior Danielle Alred (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) had three kills in the win for Keuka, which can clinch a share of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) postseason title with a win at Wells College Tuesday night.

Keuka (10-1 NEAC), Gallaudet (18-12, 11-1), Penn State-Berks (17-9, 10-2), Wells (20-10, 9-2), Lancaster Bible (18-12, 9-3) and SUNY Polytechnic (16-17, 7-5) have all clinched spots in the postseason tournament.

The top six schools qualify for the postseason tournament, and with a win over Wells, Keuka would edge out Gallaudet for the No. 1 seed and would host NEAC's based on the Wolfpack's three-set triumph over the Bison on Oct. 18.

If Keuka falls to Wells, Gallaudet, the four-time defending NEAC champions, would host the tournament, which runs Nov. 7-9.

The Wolfpack, Bison and SUNY Polytechnic shared the NEAC's regular-season title in 2013, with Gallaudet earning the NEAC championship and the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III tournament.

In-between the second and third sets of Saturday's match with Morrisville State, the Wolfpack honored Alred, Coryell, Curtis and senior Brittany Kuhn (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) for their hard work and dedication to the volleyball program.
