Men's Soccer Falls at Lancaster Bible

Box Score

Sophomore Preston Vick (Kendall, NY/Kendall) made seven saves, but the Keuka College men's soccer team couldn't score and suffered a 1-0 loss at Lancaster Bible College Saturday afternoon in Lancaster, Pa.

The Storm (4-4-1, 0-3 NEAC) fell after being outshot 15-13 by the Chargers (4-6-2, 2-1-1), who also enjoyed an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.

Neither team scored during the first half, as Keuka did a nice job possessing the ball but couldn't come up with a goal.

The Chargers finally broke through in the 62nd minute. Branden Peiffer slotted a ball to Matt Nargi, who finished with 28:03 remaining for a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Jake Altman (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) had the Storm's best scoring chance, but his blast with 23 minutes remaining struck the right post.

Later in the half, the Green and Gold scored what appeared to be the game-tying goal, but the tally was erased due to an offsides infraction.

Sophomore Joe Maier (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) had a good look on goal with eight minutes remaining, but keeper Stefan Smith made the save on Maier's header, and Keuka remained winless in conference play.

The Storm host three straight NEAC foes, beginning with Wednesday night's 5 p.m. contest with Wells College.

The game is part of Keuka's first-ever Fall Inferno, a pep rally dedicated to Keuka's fall sports teams.
