Women's Volleyball 3-0 After Sweeping Oswego

Sophomore Devan Curtis (San Clemente, CA/San Clemente) recorded 9 kills, 7 digs and 5 aces while junior Paige Golden (Kent, NY/Albion) added 15 digs and 11 kills as the Keuka College women's volleyball team swept SUNY Oswego in three sets Tuesday night inside the Weed Physical Arts Center.

Keuka defeated the Lakers by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-15.

The Storm (3-0) used an effective attacking game to knock off the Lakers (1-1). Golden had only two errors in 27 attempts and posted a .333 hitting percentage, one of five Keuka student-athletes with both four or more kills and a hitting percentage above .260.

Freshman Morgan Eberley (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) recorded four kills in five attempts (.800 percentage), followed by junior Meg Houlihan (Elysian, MN/Minnesota State University) with four kills in eight attempts (.500).

Junior Deliane Lessard (Rochester, NY/Genesee Community College) added five kills and one error on 11 attempts (.364 percentage), followed by Golden and Curtis, who had her nine kills with three errors in 23 attempts (.261).

Junior Taylor Smith (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) added 16 digs and junior setter Jill Nolan (Johnson City, NY/Maine-Endwell) had 28 assists for the Storm.

Oswego was led by Kara Michelsen (seven kills, three digs) and Meaghan Puff (four kills, three digs).

Keuka welcomes SUNY Canton and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) to campus for the 2012 Keuka College Invitational, Sept. 7-8.

It marks the first time Keuka has hosted a non-conference based tournament since 2010, when the Storm split a pair of matches during the day-long Keuka College Halloween Invitational.
