Box Score Senior Nate Smith (Hilton, NY/Hilton) and sophomore Austin Gerber (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) each scored two goals to power Keuka College's men's soccer team to a 6-3 win over Gallaudet University Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
Senior John Mastrella (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) handed out two assists while a pair of freshmen, Matt Hey (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) and Ben Schreiber (Hilton, NY/Hilton) each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers during the win for the Green and Gold (5-2, 3-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference).
A quick-strike attack staked the Storm to a 1-0 lead just 20 seconds in. Mastrella found Gerber, who ripped a shot from the left side of the goal.
Eight minutes later, Smith blasted a 30-yard shot into the right portion of the goal for a 2-0 lead, and Hey pushed the lead to 3-0, collecting a rebound off the crossbar and scoring in the 17th minute.
The score remained 3-0 until Smith scored his fifth goal of the year. Freshman Richie Weit (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) played a corner kick from the left side into Smith, who finished for a 4-0 lead in the 42nd minute. It was his first multiple-goal game of the season.

The Bison got on the scoreboard on the first of Karlis Intsons' two goals in the 53rd minute, but Schreiber restored the Storm's five-goal lead in the 63rd minute. Off a blast from Mastrella, Schreiber collected the loose ball and scored into the lower right corner of the goal for a 6-1 edge.
Gallaudet would score twice during a 10-minute span midway through the second half, but freshman Preston Vick (Kendall, NY/Kendall) made six saves to preserve the win.
The Storm returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday night with a NEAC contest against Lancaster Bible College, the first of six straight home games for Keuka. The Chargers knocked the Storm out of the 2011 NEAC postseason tournament, handing Keuka a 2-0m setback in the quarterfinals.
