Jake Scott was named the fifth head men’s basketball coach in program history in January 2021.
“I want to thank President Amy Storey and interim Director of Athletics Jon Accardi for the opportunity to be the next men’s basketball coach at Keuka College,” said Scott. “The program has a solid foundation for success, and we are looking to build on that with a player-led strategy.”
Scott comes to Keuka College following four seasons at SUNY Cobleskill. He guided the Fighting Tigers to back-to-back winning records in his last two seasons, including making the third North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament appearance in program history in 2019.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Jake to Keuka College,” said Accardi, who also serves as the College’s associate vice president for student life and dean of students. “He brings a wealth of experience and has a proven track record of building a quality program on and off the court.”
In total, Scott brings years of coaching experience to Keuka Park. Prior to being at SUNY Cobleskill, he was an assistant director of athletics and head men’s basketball coach at SUNY Maritime. He began his collegiate coaching career at the Rochester Institute of Technology, serving three years as an assistant for legendary coach Bob McVean.
“I am very excited to move back to where I grew up and coach at a great institution like Keuka College,” said Scott.
A Victor, N.Y., native, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College, before earning his master’s degree as a graduate assistant coach at Division I Virginia Commonwealth University.
“The Keuka College community is going to enjoy coming to our games and seeing our players working together, working hard, and playing a fun brand of basketball,” Scott added.
