KEUKA PARK, N.Y.
— The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team held off a late rally to defeat Alfred State University 10-9 on Wednesday afternoon.
Aiden Nice led Keuka College (3-2) with three goals, including the game-winner with 1:17 remaining.
Harrison Root added a hat trick for the Wolves, while
Austin Holsclaw finished with two goals and an assist.
Nikolas Gitsis tallied a goal and an assist, and
Toby Tummino added a goal for the Green and Gold.
Jaxson Tucker made 14 saves in goal for Keuka College.

The Wolves struck first and built an early advantage in the opening quarter. Holsclaw opened the scoring at 9:59, and Root followed just two minutes later to make it 2-0. Alfred State answered with a goal from Griffin Doan, but Keuka College held a 2-1 lead after one.
The second quarter saw momentum swing back and forth. Root extended the lead on the man-up off a feed from Gitsis, but Alfred State responded with three straight goals to take a 4-3 lead. The Green and Gold answered as Gitsis tied the game, Root scored again off an assist from
Lorenzo Rand, and Nice added a late tally to give Keuka College a 6-5 lead at halftime.
Keuka College controlled the third quarter and created separation. Nice opened the scoring in the period before Tummino buried a goal off an assist from Holsclaw. Holsclaw then added another late in the frame as the Wolves outscored Alfred State 3-0 in the quarter to take a 9-5 lead into the fourth. Tucker anchored the defense with key saves as the Green and Gold held Alfred State scoreless in the period.
Alfred State mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring four times, including a man-up goal with 2:07 remaining to tie the game at 9-9. Keuka College responded quickly, as Nice netted the decisive goal just 50 seconds later. The Wolves then held off the final push to secure the victory at home.
