KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Keuka College Softball team earned a split of their two games in Florida on Sunday as the Wolves began their 2026 season.
Keuka College (1-1) lost their first game to UMass.-Dartmouth 9-1, but the Wolves bounced back to win their second game against UMaine-Farmington 2-1. The game was called in the sixth as a severe thunderstorm passed through.
UMass.-Dartmouth 9 vs. Keuka College 1 (5 innings)
Olivia Flynn led off the game with a deep flyball to right that was dropped, allowing her to advance to third base. Flynn scored on an RBI double by
Hailey Jasinski as the Wolves took an early 1-0.
That lead would be short-lived, however, as the Corsairs plated five in the bottom of the first to take the lead.
Dartmouth continued to add to their lead, scoring in every inning as they defeated the Wolves 9-1 in five.
Keuka College 2 vs. UMaine-Farmington 1 (6 innings)
Flynn got the start in the circle in game two for the Wolves and was strong early, striking out three over the first two innings. Keuka College had three hits over that span but was unable to cash them as the game was scoreless after two.
The Wolves threatened in the bottom of the third as
Olivia Flynn doubled to start the inning. She then moved to third on a single by
Katie Landers, her second of the game. However, Flynn would get thrown out on a potential sacrifice fly. The Beavers got another flyout to escape the inning.
UMaine-Farmington took the momentum with them to the plate in the top of the fourth as they took a 1-0 lead over the Wolves.
Keuka College had the same start to the fourth as they did in the third.
Grace Eagen doubled down the leftfield line to start the inning and moved to third on a single by
Lindsay Stuck.
Giana Mruczek laid down a bunt for the Wolves. It moved Stuck to second, and Eagen was able to score on the play to tie the game.
Alexis Kopetchny hit a single up the middle to score Stuck and give the Wolves the lead.
The Beavers threatened in the top of the fifth, but Flynn got her fifth strikeout to end the inning. As severe storms approached, the game was called in the top of the sixth, giving the victory to the Wolves.
