KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Keuka College Men's Basketball senior
Lamar Lovelace continued his record-setting season for the Wolves by being named Empire 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Lovelace averaged 34 points a game this week as the Wolves closed the regular season and opened the postseason with victories. He posted 36 points and six assists in a road victory at Elmira on Tuesday to close the regular season. Lovelace then had his second double-double of the year with 32 points and 11 rebounds as the Wolves topped Nazareth University in the quarterfinals of the Empire 8 Tournament.
During the game on Saturday at Nazareth, Lovelace set a new single-season scoring record at Keuka College. He currently has 564 points on the season. It leads the Empire 8 and ranks 19th nationally in Division III.
With the win over Nazareth, Lovelace and the Wolves advanced to the semi-finals of the Empire 8 Tournament for the first time in program history. Keuka College will play at third-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday night.
