Keuka College (9-10, 2-2 Empire 8) battled through a difficult opening set after falling behind 8-2. Consecutive kills by Scott and Alessandra Castañeda helped the Green and Gold trim the deficit, and later a 5-1 run pulled Keuka College within 16-13. However, the hosts answered with nine straight points to close the set.
The Green and Gold responded with their strongest volleyball of the night in the second set. After the score was tied 4-4,
Jaylyn Knight served the Wolves on a six-point run to build a 10-4 advantage. Castañeda recorded back-to-back kills during the surge while Scott added three kills and a service ace. The Wolves never allowed the lead to shrink below four points before Scott finished the set with a kill to even the match.
The third set featured five ties before the hosts broke an 8-8 deadlock with a 10-0 run. Scott ended the run with a service ace, and Castañeda and
Addisyn Chorney each added kills late in the frame, but the Wolves were unable to recover.
The Green and Gold fought back again in the fourth set after an early deficit. Service from
Summer Elza sparked a three-point run that included an ace and a Castañeda kill to cut the margin to 10-8. Later in the set, kills from Scott, Chorney,
Meaghan Knott, and Castañeda kept Keuka College within striking distance, but the hosts scored the final four points to secure the match.
