Men’s Soccer Falls at Home to Nazareth

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Soccer team lost at home to Nazareth University 4-0 on Saturday in an Empire 8 match at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.  

First-year keeper Logan Karn tied his career high with nine saves in goal for Keuka College (0-8, 0-3 Empire 8).

The Golden Flyers took the game right to the Wolves, scoring 31 seconds into the game for the lead. Nazareth doubled their lead five minutes into the contest to take control of the game. They continued to attack, outshooting the Wolves 17-0 in the first half. Logan Karn made five saves in goal, holding Nazareth to a 2-0 lead at the break.

Nazareth added to their lead early in the second half. The Wolves had their best run of play with ten minutes remaining in the contest. Timothy Cowin got a shot off, but it was deflected, resulting in a Keuka College corner. However, the Wolves were not able to capitalize on the corner kick opportunity. Nazareth University added a goal in the final minutes to defeat the Wolves 4-0.

KC Notes:
  • Keuka College is now 3-10 all-time against Nazareth University and 1-4 since joining the Empire 8 Conference
  • Karn tied his nine saves made against Hilbert College. He leads the Empire 8 Conference with 52 saves this season and is nearing the top 25 nationally in saves per game
  • The Wolves were outshot 35-1 on Saturday. It was the most shots by a Keuka College opponent since Alfred University had 40 against the Green and Gold in 2011 in a 1-1 draw
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain in Empire 8 play with a pair of road games this week. Keuka College will travel to conference-leading SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday and then play at Hartwick College next Saturday.
