Wolves Fall to Pioneers in Women’s Lacrosse

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost the Utica University 16-3 in an Empire 8 Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Lainie Forde scored a pair of goals for Keuka College (4-4, 1-2 Empire 8). Brooke Bonetti added a goal for the Wolves.

The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead against the Wolves. Utica got on the board minutes into the game and used an aggressive ride to force Keuka into turnovers attempting to clear. As a result, the Wolves were outshot 14-1 in the first quarter as the Pioneers led 3-0 after one.

Utica continued to control the play, outscoring Keuka 5-0 in the second to lead by eight at the half.

The run extended to 11 goals before Lainie Forde got the Wolves on the board midway through the third. Forde got her second in the fourth quarter and Brooklyn Ayers set up Brooke Bonetti for a goal in the final minute. Utica closed out the game for a 16-3 victory.

  • Keuka College falls to 1-11 all-time to Utica University, with the lone win coming in the 2014 season
  • The late tally by Bonetti kept her streak going as the senior has scored in every game this season for the Green and Gold
  • Forde also has a goal streak for the Wolves, scoring in her last five games played
  • Rylie Pratt led Keuka with three draw controls. As a team, the Wolves collected eight in the game
  • Lauren Vitello made nine saves in goal for the Wolves
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain at home on Wednesday as Keuka College hosts Nazareth University in an Empire 8 game. The matchup will be held under the lights at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex with a 7 p.m. start time between the Wolves and Golden Flyers.
