Keuka College Women’s Lacrosse Falls on Senior Day

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost to Hartwick College 21-7 on Saturday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Seniors Brooke Bonetti and Maddie Fassinger each scored a pair of goals in their final home game for Keuka College (4-8, 1-6 Empire 8). Lainie Forde added two goals as well for the Wolves.

Hartwick College struck first on Saturday, but the defenses held for both teams. Keuka College levelled the game with seven minutes left in the frame as seniors connected with Katie Deatherage found Brooke Bonetti for the goal. The tie lasted only 14 seconds as the Hawks scored, but Keuka College answered right back as Bonetti scored 21 seconds after the Hartwick goal to tie the game at 2-2. Hartwick scored the final three goals of the first quarter to lead 5-2 after one.

The quick strike goals continued in the second quarter. Lainie Forde opened the scoring 24 seconds into the second, but Hartwick answered 19 seconds later. The goal sparked four straight for Hartwick College. Forde snapped the run with her second goal of the game, but Hartwick responded with two more goals. Maddie Fassinger scored with five minutes left in the half and the teams would hold it margin there as Hartwick led 11-5 at the half.

Out of halftime, Fassinger struck first for Keuka, but Hartwick responded with six straight to take a 17-6 lead into the final quarter.

The run extended to eight goals in the fourth quarter. Rosie Wallace snapped the Hartwick College run with a goal. However, the Hawks added two more goals to close out the 21-7 victory.

  • Lainie Forde added an assist for a team-high 3 points
  • Jessica Miller set a new career-high with a team-high six ground balls
  • Tori Nelson assisted on Fassinger's second goal for her 50th career point
  • Lauren Vitello made 16 saves in goal. The sophomore now has 128 on the season, fifth-most in program history
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves close the season this week with a pair of road games as Keuka College plays at St. John Fisher University on Wednesday and at SUNY Brockport on Saturday.
