Keuka College Concludes Softball Spring Trip

CLERMONT, Fla. — The Keuka College Softball team dropped a pair of games on Friday afternoon in Florida to conclude their annual spring trip.

Keuka College (0-8) faced St. Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday. The Wolves lost to the Saints 14-0 and then fell to the Pointers 8-0.

St. Lawrence University 14 vs. Keuka College 0 (5 inn.)
The Saints took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first. The Wolves looked to answer right back as Emily Cutrona and Olivia Flynn led off the bottom of the frame with back-to-back singles. A walk loaded the bases with one out, but St. Lawrence got the force out at the plate and then a groundout to escape the inning.

St. Lawrence took control of the game with five runs in the third to extend their lead. Cutrona and Flynn again started the bottom of the inning strong for the Green and Gold as Cutrona walked and Flynn singled. Makenna DeMoney singled to right, but Cutrona was thrown out at the plate to keep the Wolves off the board.

St. Lawrence would add a run in the fourth and six in the fifth to defeat the Wolves 14-0 in five innings.

#16 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 8 vs. Keuka College 0 (5 inn.)
Stevens Point took advantage of a pair of Keuka errors in the bottom of the first with the first run of the game. The Wolves attempted to answer in the top of the second as a pair of walks had two runners on with one out, but a pair of strikeouts ended the inning.

The pointers added two runs in the bottom of the second. A double by Haley Mascho would be Keuka's only hit of the game. Stevens Point plated five in the fifth, capped by a walkoff sacrifice fly, to end the game at 8-0.

KC Notes:

  • With the Pointers being ranked 16th in the country, the Wolves had their first ranked opponent since the 2021 season. Keuka College is 2-18 against nationally ranked teams
  • Flynn and DeMoney each had a pair of hits against St. Lawrence
