GENESEO, N.Y. — The Keuka College women's basketball team opened Empire 8 play Saturday with a 79–55 loss at SUNY Geneseo.
Janea Hamilton-Brown led the Wolves with a season-high 14 points.

SUNY Geneseo (7-2, 1-0 Empire 8) opened the game with seven unanswered points. First-year Rylee Couzzo scored the first basket for Keuka College (4-4, 0-1 Empire 8) in her first career start. By the end of the period, the Wolves trimmed the deficit to six behind eight points from
Lillian Mullen.
The Knights began the second quarter with an 8-0 run before
Janea Hamilton-Brown stopped the surge with a 3-pointer. Geneseo continued to have an answer and carried an 11-point lead into halftime. Hamilton-Brown scored 10 points in the second quarter to keep Keuka within reach.
Geneseo used a 13-3 run to open the third quarter, pushing the lead past 20. The Wolves scored 10 points in the period, while the Knights added 23 to extend the advantage to 64-39 and take firm control.
Keuka attempted to rally in the fourth quarter and outscored the Knights in the final period, but the comeback fell short.
