GENESEO, N.Y. — The Keuka College men's basketball team visited SUNY Geneseo for its first conference game of the season and lost 64-58.
Sophomore forward
Makya Morrison recorded a collegiate-high five blocks while also posting his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Green and Gold.

SUNY Geneseo (4-4, 1-0 Empire 8) opened the contest with six unanswered points before
Lamar Lovelace got Keuka College (2-7, 0-1 Empire 8) on the board. Geneseo controlled the early play, holding a 21–14 advantage midway through the first half. Keuka responded with a 10-point run to take the lead, sparked by a balanced scoring effort that included four points from
Akinlana Popoola. The Knights answered with an 11–4 run to close the half and carry a six-point lead into the break.
Early in the second half, both teams traded baskets as the Wolves looked to mount a comeback, but the Knights had an answer each time. Geneseo used a 6–0 run to build its largest lead of the game at 11 points. Keuka responded with six straight points, and the Wolves' defense tightened up to force tough shots late in the shot clock. Midway through the second half, Popoola keyed an 11–2 run, scoring six of those points — including four at the free-throw line — and
Chase Welch capped the run with a fast-break 3-pointer to tie the game at 54–54.
Lovelace knocked down two free throws to give Keuka a brief lead, but Geneseo regained the advantage with a 3-pointer with 1:30 remaining. Keuka had chances down the stretch, but a goaltending call with 18 seconds left helped seal the win for the Knights.
