Men’s Soccer Falls to Wildcats 2-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Keuka College Men's Soccer team lost at Penn College 2-0 in a non-conference match on Saturday.

Tyler Spina made five saves in goal for Keuka College (0-2).

The Wolves started Saturday on the attack with some early shots and corner kicks, however their attempts were saved. The play leveled out with both teams getting opportunities on goal. Penn College would capitalize on a chance in the 35th minute. Spina stopped the initial shot but the Wildcats scored on the second opportunity for the 1-0 advantage.

The Wildcats added to their lead in the 58th minute to make it 2-0. With the lead, Penn College took a grasp on the game and limited Keuka's chances. They saw out the game for the 2-0 win.

KC Notes:
  • The Wolves are now 5-3-3 all-time against Penn College. All three of the losses have come in the last three meetings
  • Tyler Spina made his first collegiate appearance in goal on Saturday
  • Penn College had the advantage in shots 20-10, but the margin in shots on goal was much closer at 7-5
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will turn the page and focus on their home opener coming up this week. Keuka College will host SUNY Potsdam at 4 p.m. at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The two teams met two years ago in Keuka Park with the Bears taking a 4-1 victory.
