Men’s Lacrosse Ends Season with Loss to Hartwick

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team lost to Hartwick College 22-7 in their final game of the 2024 season on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Keuka College finished the season with a 5-8 record. Playing in their final career game, seniors accounted for all of Keuka College's goals. Dylan DeLucia led the way with four goals. Also scoring for the Wolves were seniors Nicholas Pipher, Matt Jerman, and Enrique Castillo.

The Wolves struck first on Saturday as Nicholas Pipher found the back of the net 43 seconds into the game. However, Hartwick answered with three to take the lead. DeLucia snapped the string with a goal, but Hartwick answered to make it 4-2 with just under four minutes left in the first quarter. The ensuing faceoff had the Wolves playing a man-down. Enrique Castillo won the faceoff and raced downfield. The senior scored 14 seconds after Hartwick did as it was a 4-3 game after one.

The Hawks took control in the second. They scored the first five goals of the quarter and totaled 18 shots in the frame. Dylan DeLucia got his second midway through the second, but Hartwick closed with two more goals to lead 11-4 at the half.

The run continued for the Hawks in the second half as they outscored Keuka 9-0 in the frame to lead 20-4.

Hartwick continued the momentum into the fourth, going up 22-4 on the Wolves. Dylan DeLucia ended the drought, completing the hat trick for the Wolves. The game closed on goals by Jerman and DeLucia, but Hartwick would defeat Keuka College 22-7 on Saturday.

  • Keuka College remains in search of their first victory over Hartwick College in six meetings
  • Robert Hill led the defensive efforts with three of Keuka's 10 caused turnovers. The Wolves finished the season with 145, tenth-most in program history
  • Enrique Castillo went 50% on faceoffs, winning nine. He will graduate from Keuka with the sixth-most faceoff wins in program history with 169
  • Graduate student Dylan Hoad had nine saves in his final game. His 429 career saves is the fifth-most in Keuka College Men's Lacrosse history
