The Mustangs got out to a quick 2-0 lead to start the game, but the Wolves were ready to answer. With two minutes left in the first, Grace Morse found the back of the net on a man-down play to give Keuka their first goal.

Just 44 seconds into the second quarter, Tori Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) passed to Brooke Bonetti for another Keuka goal to tie the game. Morrisville scored to start the quarter again but one minute later, Tori Nelson scored a Keuka goal after Liz Spin collected the draw control. After two additional Mustang goals, the Wolves continued to keep the pressure on. Maddie Fassinger (Camillus, N.Y. / West Genesee) forced a turnover and collected a ground ball to bring the ball down the field to earn another Keuka goal, this time from Grace Morse, assisted by Alyssa Chase (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman). The Green and Gold added two more goals from Liz Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) and Brooke Bonetti to tie the game 6-6 going into the break.

Morrisville scored a pair of goals in the third but again, the Wolves persisted. After Meghan Johnson (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) picked up a ground ball, Julia Bauder (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) found Bonetti for a goal. The Mustangs added two more goals to their lead, but Julia Bauder scored for Keuka after Jill McGinley (Syracuse, N.Y. / East Syracuse-Minoa) had forced a turnover to keep the game within two. Morrisville had the 10-8 lead going into the final quarter.

Jill McGinley had a free position attempt after a foul and scored on the shot to bring the game back within one point. Morrisville went on to add two goals to their lead, but Brooke Bonetti scored her fourth goal of the game with 10:54 left to play. With five minutes left in the game, Julia Bauder capitalized on a man-up opportunity to get within two goals. However, the remaining 4:59 went without a score from either team and SUNY Morrisville won the game 13-11.

KC Notes:
  • Lauren Vitello (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) was credited with 11 saves in goal
  • Vitello is one save away from 100 in her first Keuka season
  • Brooke Bonetti has recorded 50 points scored in her career
