Wolves Fall to Blue Devils in Women’s Lacrosse

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost on Saturday afternoon 17-4 to Fredonia State in a non-conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Maddie Fassinger scored a pair of goals for Keuka College (0-4). Tori Nelson and Julia Bauder recorded the other markers for the Wolves.

The Blue Devils got out to a fast start, scoring three goals in a two-minute span to hold a 3-0 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first. The run extended to six goals before Maddie Fassinger scored with 4:48 left in the first to make it 6-1. On the goal, Tori Nelson found Fassinger cutting for the assist. Fredonia responded with a goal on the advantage to lead 7-1 after one.

Fredonia again showed an ability to score quickly with three goals in a two-minute span to widen their lead. The Blue Devils outscored the Wolves 4-1 in the second quarter. Tori Nelson scored for Keuka just before the half to make it 11-2 at the break.

Julia Bauder recorded her goal at the end of the third quarter, converting on a free-position shot to make it 13-3.

In the fourth, the Blue Devils added four more goals to secure the victory. Meghan Johnson earned the assist on Fassinger's second goal. Fredonia defeated Keuka College 17-4.

  • Lauren Vitello made 12 stops in goal for the Wolves
  • To go with her goal and an assist, Tori Nelson also caused a pair of turnovers against Fredonia
  • Jill McGinley caused a turnover for the Wolves giving the senior 55 in her career, tenth-most in program history
  • Bauder's goal was the first free-position goal for the Wolves this season
Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold are next in action this Wednesday, March 20 as they travel to SUNY Canton for a non-league game. The Wolves will be out for revenge as SUNY Canton defeated Keuka College by one goal, 11-10, in Keuka Park last season.
