KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team had a pair of student-athletes selected to the annual Empire 8 Men's Basketball All-Conference list.
Devin Milton and
Christian Sage were both named All-Empire 8. Milton was named First Team and Sage was selected as Second Team.
Milton led the Wolves averaging 18.8 points per game this season. It was the fourth-best scoring average in the Empire 8 and sixth-best in a season in Keuka College Men's Basketball history. Highlighting the season for Milton was when he passed Shawn Reed '89 for the school scoring record. Milton will leave Keuka College with 1,578 career points while making 177 three-pointers, both program records. This is Milton's second all-conference selection after being named to the second team last season.
Christian Sage earned the Empire 8 honor in his first season in the conference. The transfer from Cazenovia College led the Green and Gold in total scoring with 383 points this season while ranking eighth in the league with 16.3 points per game. Sage tied for the team lead with 65 assists and was the best free-throw shooter in the Empire 8 with a .864 free-throw percentage. That ranked as the third-best in a season in program history.
The duo led Keuka College to a winning record in conference play, the four-seed, and a home game in the Empire 8 Tournament. They both scored over 20 points in the same game five times during the season, including in the Empire 8 Tournament against Alfred.
Milton is the first First Team All-Conference selection in the Empire 8 in program history. Keuka last had the honor in 2014-15 when Trevor Healey '15 was First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference. It is also the first time since the 2012-13 season that the Men's Basketball program had a pair of student-athletes selected.
Also honored on Thursday was senior
Ezeke Pulliam. He was named Keuka College's representative for Empire 8 Men's Basketball Sportsman of the Year. Pulliam saw time in 23 games for the Green and Gold and was able to facilitate the offense for Keuka College. He neared a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the Green and Gold and set a new career-high in threes made. He also excelled in the classroom being named to the Empire 8 President's List multiple times and graduating Keuka College in just three years.
Pulliam was one of nine from the conference honored. From the conference's release, "The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that 'Competing with Honor and Integrity' is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen."
