KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost to Alfred University 72-61 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday afternoon.
Keuka College closed the 2023-24 season with a 1-23 record, going 0-16 in the Empire 8.
Mary Cotter set a new career-high with 25 points to lead the Wolves.
Meghan Ellis added 12 points in the loss.

Keuka College got out to a fast start as
Mary Cotter knocked down a three to give the Wolves a 7-2 lead. Alfred fought back to tie the game at ten, but the Wolves took the lead right back as
Katie Deatherage found

Sydney Brown made a shot for the Wolves in the final seconds as Keuka led 18-13 after one.
The Wolves lead early in the second quarter. Alfred pressed on defense for most of the game.
Mary Cotter was able to break the press for an easy layup to make it 20-15. Later in the quarter, a small 5-0 spurt for the Saxons gave them a brief 28-27 lead, but that lasted only 20 seconds as
Caiden Crego drove to the basket for a layup. That started a 7-0 run for the Wolves to close the half. Alfred had the ball late but Megan Ellis forced a steal and found
Katie Deatherage for a layup at the buzzer to give the Wolves a 34-28 lead at the break.
Alfred scored the opening basket of the second half, but
Mary Cotter answered right back with a three. The Wolves later pushed the lead out to eight points as Cotter banked in a three to make it 42-34, but the Saxons would go on a run. 14 unanswered points for Alfred University switched the lead to the visitors at 48-42. The Wolves drew the game closer, but Alfred led 49-46 after three.
The Saxons scored the first six of the final quarter to extend their lead and force Keuka College into a timeout. The Green and Gold snapped the run, but Alfred responded and grew their lead. The Saxons led by as many as 14 in the fourth. The Wolves attempted to press and foul to get back in but were unable as they fell to Alfred 72-61 on Saturday.

- Saturday was the 44th meeting between the Wolves and Saxons. Alfred is the second-most-played opponent in program history
