The host Yellowjackets pushed an early seven-point lead over the Wolves in the first set. The Wolves cut it down to four points following a kill by Camey Knapp at 19-15, but that would be as close as the Wolves would get it as they dropped the opening set 25-18.

Keuka jumped out to the early lead in the second set, building a 5-1 advantage. Rochester would storm back, however, to take the lead. An ace by Emma Sipos leveled the set at 15-15. Rochester took the lead back, but the Wolves answered again. This time an ace by Dayna Edholm tied the set at 19, but Rochester would score six of the final seven points to win the second set 25-20 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Wolves scored seven unanswered to cut the margin to one, 22-21. However, RUT was able to get a kill to end the run and closed the set with a kill to level the match at 1-1.

The Tigers controlled the third set, defeating Keuka 25-15 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

It was Keuka's turn to control the fourth set against RIT. In the middle of the set, Keuka would score 10 of 12 points to build a 22-14 lead over the Tigers. The Wolves won the fourth 25-18 to force a fifth and final set.
