KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Baseball team split with Medaille University at home on Saturday afternoon.
Keuka College (8-20, 3-11 Empire 8) lost game one to Medaille University 6-4. The Wolves then defeated the Mavericks 8-1 in game two.
Keuka College 4 vs Medaille University 6 – Game One – 7 Innings
The Mavericks got out on top in game one, scoring two runs in the top of the third. The Wolves took back the lead in the bottom of the fifth after
Jackson Loper (Riverhead, N.Y. / Riverhead) singled to right field and
Matt Vaccaro (Fayetteville, N.Y. / Fayetteville-Manlius) singled Loper in.
RJ Murphy (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) followed later in the inning with a single to score two more giving the Wolves the 3-2 lead.
The Wolves scored one more in the bottom of the sixth, but the Mavericks put a comeback together to score four in the top of the seventh and take game one 6-4.
Lead Wolf: Jackson Loper led the Wolves' offense going three-for-three in game one. The Freshman also had one RBI and scored one of the runs for the Wolves.
Keuka College 8 vs Medaille University 1 – Game Two
The Wolves offense picked up in game two and
Anthony Laurinitis (Philadelphia, Pa. / Father Judge) had a career day on the mound to lead the Wolves to a game two win.
The Wolves jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first three innings. The Mavericks got one back in the top of the third. But the Wolves were relentless scoring two more by the end of the sixth inning to take an 8-1 lead.
Lead Wolf: Anthony Laurinitis was masterful on the mound. The Sophomore threw eight innings, giving up six hits and striking out a career-best 15 batters. With a strong performance, Laurinitis earned his first win of the season for the Wolves.

- Anthony Laurinitis moved into first place in the record book with 60 strikeouts in a single season.
- Laurinitis threw eight complete innings in game two, a new personal best for the sophomore in a single game.
- Jackson Loper also had a career day after earning three hits in game one, a new personal best.
