KEUKA PARK, N.Y.— The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost a close game to SUNY Morrisville 94-90 on Saturday afternoon at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Leading the way for Keuka College (3-5, 1-0 Empire 8) was
Mac Creek with a career-high 20 points.
Christian Sage and
Daniel Obunse followed closely behind, scoring 16 apiece.
SUNY Morrisville 94 at Keuka College 90
The Wolves led the game for the majority of the first half.
Will Tehan contributed to the offensive success by going 3-3 from the three-point line. With a back-and-forth half, the Green and Gold found themselves down by three with 29 seconds remaining in the first. A jump shot from Tehan in the final seconds would help the Wolves to decrease the deficit going into the break down to 52-51.
The Mustangs came out strong in the second half and increased their lead to 10, 65-55. The Wolves fought back and a jumper by Obunse would bring Keuka to within one score, 76-74, midway through the half. An offensive rebound and basket made by Sage would give the Wolves their first lead of the second half as Keuka held a 78-77 advantage. The Mustangs regained the lead, but with 4:31 left, a three-pointer by Obunse would tie the game for the fifth time, 85-85. Another Dan Obunse three gave Keuka College a five-point lead, 90-85, with 3:37 left to play. The Mustangs scored five straight over the next 1:30 to tie the game at 90-90. Morrisville took the lead with 1:08 left to play and added a pair of late free throws as they closed the game on a 9-0 run to defeat the Wolves 94-90.

- The 90 points by the Wolves were the most ever scored in the 24-game series with Morrisville
- Mac Creek posted a new career-high with 20 points for the Wolves. Creek also led the Wolves with five assists
- Will Tehan hit three threes for Keuka while going 6-7 from the floor for 15 points
- Mason VanDeMortel hit a pair of threes. The senior has now knocked down 114 in his career at Keuka, tying Peter Durr for tenth on the career list
