OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team opened their season planning in the Max Ziel Tournament at Oswego State on Friday. The Wolves lost their first game of the season to RPI 89-70.
Keuka College (0-1) was led by two players each scoring 20 or more points.
Christian Sage led the way for the Green and Gold with 25 points in his team debut.
Devin Milton posted 20 points for the Wolves in the loss.
RPI 89 vs. Keuka College 70
The Engineers opened the game on Friday outscoring Keuka College 13-1 over the first five minutes. The Wolves battled to stay in the game, but RPI continued to create separation, leading by as many as 27, 37-10, with eight minutes remaining in the half. The Green and Gold did not go away. Mason VanDeMortel closed the run as the Wolves trailed 44-35 at the break.
The Wolves continued to roll into the second half. Keuka cut further into the RPI lead. Four straight points by
Christian Sage shrunk the margin to four, 53-49, with 15:28 remaining in the game. The Engineers had an answer for Keuka cutting it close, however. RPI scored 17 unanswered over the next six minutes to push their lead back to 21 points. The Engineers continued on to defeat the Wolves 89-70 on Friday.

- It was just the second time that Keuka College has faced RPI. The Green and Gold won the previous meeting during the 1989-90 season
- This is the first time that Keuka College has played in the Max Ziel Tournament at Oswego State
- Jaden Keasey led the Wolves with five rebounds
- Devin Milton added a team-high four steals in the game. Milton moves into a tie for sixth with Alan White with 135 steals in his career
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will now play in the consolation game of the tournament at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Keuka College will face SUNY Poly. It will be the first time the Wolves have faced their former conference-mates since the two played in a four-overtime marathon in February 2020.
