Wolves Cruise Past Express in Field Hockey

AURORA, N.Y. — Seven different players scored for Keuka College as the Wolves defeated Wells College 10-0 on Wednesday.

Anna Dewey became just the fifth different player in program history to record a hat trick with three goals for Keuka College (4-8, 2-3 Empire 8). Kirstin Billings scored a pair of goals and Tori Nelson finished with a five-point game, scoring a goal and adding three assists.

The Wolves built possession with early corners and capitalized 5:35 into the game as Nelson set up Erin Patterson for her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Keuka added to their lead later in the quarter thanks to a corner. Off the set play, Alexis Dodge found Anna Dewey for the goal as the Wolves led 2-0 after the first.

Keuka College added to their lead five minutes into the second on an unassisted goal by Makaela Mills. Wells College did get a shot on goal in the second, but Jordan Nichols was there for the save. Keuka College took a 4-0 lead into halftime following a goal by Kirstin Billings.

Keuka continued to use penalty corners to their advantage. They scored their fifth on a corner with Dewey scoring her second of the game. Alexis Dodge then got in on the action. After getting her second assist of the game on Dewey's goal, Dodge found the back of the cage herself to give Keuka College a 6-0 lead.

The Wolves closed it out in the fourth. Dewey completed her hat trick 30 seconds into the fourth. First-year Erika Coville then scored the first goal of her career. Tallies by Billings and Nelson capped the night for Keuka College as they defeated Wells College 10-0.

  • The Wolves improve to 9-1 against Wells College, winning seven straight. It is also seven straight shutouts for Keuka College against the Express
  • Jordan Nichols got the shutout in goal. It was the fifth of her career, setting a new Keuka College career record
  • Dewey became the first player since Alyssa Muszak scored three against Wells College in the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship game to record a hat trick for the Wolves
  • Tori Nelson moved to fourth on the career points list at Keuka College. The sophomore now has 39 over her two years. Her nine assists this season are the second-most in program history
  • As a team, Keuka College either had the second-most or tied for the second-most goals, assists, and points on Wednesday
Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold return home next Wednesday for their final two home games. The pair will begin on Wednesday as the Wolves host SUNY Geneseo in a non-conference game. Keuka College will then play their final home game of the year on Friday, October 20 as they host Utica University at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
