Women’s Basketball Falls at Home to Russell Sage

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost an Empire 8 Conference game at home on Friday night, falling to Russell Sage College 80-29.

Killian Mahoney and Meg McGwin led Keuka College (3-14, 0-10 Empire 8) with six points apiece. Lauren Hill posted seven rebounds in the loss for Keuka.

After trading opening baskets, Russell Sage built an 11-2 lead over the Wolves. Sydney Brown knocked down a three midway through the quarter to make it 11-5. Gianna Padula added a three in the closing minute but the Gators led 18-10 after the first.

Russell Sage created separation in the second quarter. They had a 25-1 run that spanned most of the quarter. Killian Mahoney hit a three for Keuka but the Wolves trailed 45-14 at the half.

Killian Mahoney hit an early three for the Wolves in the third quarter. Meg McGwin had four of her six points in the quarter, including a nice turnaround shot in the paint.

Russell Sage saw the game out in the fourth quarter, outscoring Keuka 12-7, on their way to the 80-29 victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: Next up for the Wolves is the middle game of their three-game homestand. The Green and Gold will host Hartwick College at 2 p.m. at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday afternoon. Keuka College will look to answer strongly to Hartwick after the Hawks defeated the Wolves back in December.
