Elmira College 45 at Keuka College 37
It was a slow start for both teams. The first basket of the game came five minutes in as Katie Deathridge found
Ellen Lavonas for a layup. There would only be four field goals in the frame. Three for Keuka and one for Elmira as the Wolves led 6-2 after one.
Killian Mahoney opened the second with a three-pointer. Then, following an Elmira basket,
Sydney Brown hit back-to-back threes to push the Keuka lead to 15-4. Elmira cut into the lead, but
Killian Mahoney pushed it back to ten with a three. The Soaring Eagles worked it down to five, but
Lauren Hill found
Sydney Brown for her fourth three of the quarter at the final buzzer. Keuka led 21-13 at the break.
Halftime adjustments played well for the Soaring Eagles as Elmira scored the first 12 points of the second half. They held Keuka off the board until 2:18 left when
Sydney Brown hit a jumper. The Wolves closed on a 7-0 run to regain a 28-25 lead going into the final quarter.
It was the same from Elmira to start the fourth as the Soaring Eagles scored seven straight. A free throw by
Ellen Lavonas snapped the run, but Elmira added five more to push their lead to 37-29 with 2:30 left to play. Keuka would be able to cut the lead to six, but that would be as close as they made it. Elmira College continued onto the 45-37 victory.
