KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team defeated Penn College 1-0 on a rainy Wednesday night at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
For the second game in a row, Parker Lahey scored the goal for Keuka College (2-0-1) in a 1-0 victory. Cassidy Walsh assisted on the goal. Sam Pelcher and Elianna Wilder combined for the shutout in goal.

The Wolves pressed the play early on, threatening the Wildcats, but the breakthrough did not come until 15 minutes into play. Cassidy Walsh played the ball forward down the left wing, finding Parker Lahey running into the box. The freshman found the back of the net for her second goal in as many games to give Keuka College a 1-0 advantage. The Wolves had other quality chances in the half. Lahey found Shayla Vetter at the top of the box for an open shot, but it was saved in the 35th minute. Later, Lindsey Garbacz created offense on her own as she attacked the left alley, cut back in the box for an open shot, but that too was saved. Keuka outshot Penn College 11-2 in the half and led 1-0 at the break.
Keuka College had the first quality chance of the second half as Garbacz narrowly missed again, this time ringing the ball off the right post in the 55th minute. For a majority of the remaining 35 minutes, play switched with the Wildcats playing on the front foot. Penn College had a quality chance in the 62nd minute, but their shot inside the six was blocked by the Wolves. Later, the visitors would have three straight corners, but the Wolves would hold them without a shot. In the 79th minute, the Wildcats had another corner and the ball ended up with an open attacker in the six-yard box, but Elianna Wilder was there for the save to preserve the shutout.

· Sitting at 2-0-1, it is the best start to a season for the women's soccer team since the 1995 campaign

· Parker Lahey scored her second game-winning goal in as many games. The freshman was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday
· With the win over the weekend, Head Coach Jessica Christenson moved past current Keuka College Men's Soccer coach Steve Christenson for third on the women's soccer wins list at Keuka
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will look to continue their hot start and win their first game on the road this Saturday as Keuka College travels to Pennsylvania to face Lycoming College. Keuka is 7-2 all-time against Lycoming, but the Warriors defeated the Wolves 2-1 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex last season.
