Keuka College Drops Men’s Soccer Game to SUNY Potsdam

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Soccer team dropped a home game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex to SUNY Potsdam 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Evan Pellerito scored the lone goal for Keuka College (0-2). Brenden Moquin had the assist on the Pellerito tally.

The Bears stepped out to an early lead on Saturday scoring in the first 13 minutes of the game. The wolves made their comeback goal coming from Evan Pellerito after a corner kick from Brenden Moquin 26 minutes into the game. The Bears were quick to answer, regaining the lead eight minutes following Keuka's goal. SUNY Potsdam led 2-1 at the half.

SUNY Potsdam quickly added to their lead scoring 53 seconds into the second half. The visitors would later push their lead to 4-1. The Wolves had advantages in the second with seven corner kicks, compared to Potsdam's one. However, Keuka only managed one shot in the half and would fall to SUNY Potsdam 4-1.

KC Notes:

·       Keuka College remains ahead in the all-time series with SUNY Potsdam as it now sits at 3-2-3

·       This was just the third game of the eight-game series that did not go to overtime

·       It was the first career goal for Pellerito and first career assist for Moquin

·       Carson Smith started in goal and made four saves for the Wolves. Cory Cangemi entered in the second half and made a pair of saves in his time

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have a week to recover and prepare for their next match. Keuka College will host the University of Rochester next Saturday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. The non-conference match will kickoff at 3 p.m.
