KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team dropped their home opener under the lights at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex to Keystone College 4-1 on Friday.

The Giants struck first in the opening quarter on Friday. They were able to find a brief opening in the middle of a scrum in front of goal and hit it in for the 1-0 lead. Keuka would equalize before the end of the quarter. Alexis Dodge inserted a corner to Makaela Mills at the top of the arc. Mills slid the ball to the left and Billings one-timed the shot to level the game at 1-1.

Keystone regained the lead less than two minutes into the second quarter and applied pressure throughout. The Giants had eight shots and held the Wolves without one in the frame. Nichols stood tall for Keuka in goal, making five saves to keep it at a one-goal game. Keystone would carry the 2-1 advantage into halftime.

After the break, Keuka came out flying with fresh legs. The Green and Gold generated shots and corners. However, in their best scoring opportunities, the ball would end up wide of cage. Against the run, Keystone was able to find an open player on the back post for a goal to take a 3-1 lead to the fourth.

The Giants scored minutes into the fourth to take control. The Wolves had seven shots in the quarter, but only two would be on frame. Both efforts were stopped as Keystone defeated Keuka College 4-1.
